Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment where there is variety and opportunities to learn new skills.
As a Pharmacy Technician will play a key role in supporting safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across the practice. Your will work under the direct supervision of an experienced senior clinical pharmacist and work alongside our dedicated prescribing team. Training will be tailored to individual needs and interests. There is regular clinical education from outside speakers that staff to attend to help towards CPD and revalidation requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
The duties can be adjusted depending on pre-existing skill sets - there are ample opportunities for professional development under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team. Duties may include:
Undertaking medicines reconciliation from hospital discharge letters or outpatient clinic letters.
To work with the supervision of the senior clinical pharmacist to respond to medication-related queries generated by patients, GPs, other health care professionals and staff.
To respond to MHRA drug safety alerts and to ensure any relevant information is communicated to the relevant teams.
To utilise GP practice clinical systems to conduct prescribing audits.
Ensure we are compliant with CQC expectations for medicines management.
Assisting in the monitoring and management of prescribing budgets and the preparation of evidence-based resources and information that support cost-effective prescribing.
Assist in the work-up for patients for their medication review or SMR.
For experienced candidates, there would be opportunities to hold clinics either over the phone or face-to-face in therapeutic areas to suit interests and experience.
Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Management team.
