We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician/Accredited Checking Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and efficiently and providing the final accuracy check (once qualified). This position requires strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare environment.
Duties
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
Undertake the final accuacy check on prepared prescriptions
Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary
Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries regarding medications and health advice
Provide medication under PGD services both as private services and as NHS services (eg weight loss treatment, oral contraception)
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld
Perform medication administration under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes
Qualifications
Registration with the GPhC is a requirement for this role
A suitable NVQ3 qualification (or equivalent)- is mandatory
A suitable ACT checking qualification is desirable however candidates who are registered technicians without this will be required to undertake the accuracy training course.
Knowledge of medication administration practices and protocols
Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is an advantage
Must possess relevant certifications or qualifications as required by local regulations
