Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician/pharmacy assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and efficiently and supporting the pharmacy team with daily activities in the pharmacy. This position requires strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare environment.

This position is initially for a fixed term of 12 months to cover maternity leave however there will be options to change this to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Working hours: 27.5 hour per fortnight
Monday 9-1

Wednesday 9-1

Friday 2-6

Saturdays (alternate) 9-12.30

Duties

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries regarding medications and health advice Provide medication under PGD services both as private services and as NHS services (eg weight loss treatment, oral contraception)- *for Pharmacy Technicians only
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld Perform medication administration under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes

Qualifications

Ideally an NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 in Pharmacy or experience Knowledge of medication administration practices and protocols Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is an advantage Must possess relevant certifications or qualifications as required by local regulations

Pay: 12.38-14.09 per hour
