Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in the Masharani Practice, Lutterworth in South Leicestershire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a professional, safe, and efficient manner. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent patient care skills, and adherence to aseptic techniques.

Duties

Perform venepuncture and capillary blood collection. Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, labelling samples accurately, and maintain proper documentation Ensuring samples are prepared for collection to the laboratory in a timely manner. Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination or infection during procedures Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the phlebotomy area in accordance with health and safety standards Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns effectively Ensure compliance with all relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and safety guidelines Accurately manage patient recalls and associated read-coding data in the medical record Support with stock management of supplies and fridge data checking Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance and peer review appropriately

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Phlebotomist. Certified in phlebotomy or relevant medical training recognised within the healthcare sector Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred but training will be provided

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.30 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
