Strand Medical Group is a large, forward-thinking GP practice located next to Durrington-on-Sea train station, caring for a growing population of over 15,700 patients. We are an innovative, digitally progressive practice using SystmOne and AI supported clinical software to deliver safe, efficient patient care.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Phlebotomist to join our clinical team for up to 5 mornings per week.

You would be joining a friendly, multi-disciplinary team including:

4 GP Partners 5 Salaried GPs 2 Paramedic Practitioners 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners 8 Practice Nurses 4 HCAs Administrative and management teams
ROLE SUMMARY

As a Phlebotomist at Strand Medical Group, you will provide safe, effective, and compassionate venepuncture services for adult and teenage patients. You will work closely with the nursing and GP teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform venepuncture on adults and children over 12 years of age in line with guidelines Prepare, label, and record samples accurately using SystmOne and ICE Ensure timely dispatch of specimens to the laboratory Maintain infection control and room cleanliness Follow protocols including PPE, safety, and waste disposal Support seasonal vaccination clinics where appropriate Provide professional, sensitive patient care
REQUIREMENTS

Experience as a Phlebotomist in primary care or similar setting Competency in venepuncture with training evidence Ability to work independently and manage time well Excellent attention to detail Comfortable using IT systems (SystmOne desirable) Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
