Your Role and What You'll Be Doing




Working as a Personal Injury & Multi-Matter Billings Assistant, you'll undertake the reconciliation of Personal Injury cases where funds are due to Irwin Mitchell ensuring compliance with VAT & Solicitors Accounts Rules, under the guidance and support of the Team Leader. You'll also ensure all invoice processing is in line with documented procedures and agreed Service Level Agreements and compliant with financial controls.


What You'll Be Doing




Reconciling Personal Injury matters & identifying financial balances so that files may be brought to a nil balance & then closed Reviewing central billing forms completed by file handlers and checking the bill of costs to ensure these are logged correctly onto the finance system Processing bills to the finance system Setting up billing groups correctly, making sure the relevant matters are included Reviewing case management data & reconcile to finance system Raising any queries/concerns where necessary with requestor Balancing all weekly statements to make sure the correct offset is done, with attention to detail given to any transfer of client funds Reviewing all interim & final claims on a daily basis Dealing with any invoice claims made to the Legal Aid portal along with the weekly statements Taking responsibility for online Legal Aid portal Processing invoices to the finance system Keeping the income tracking sheet up to date in a timely manner for reporting purposes

About You



Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Accuracy and attention to detail in your work Being able to work as part of a team, as well as working independently Experience of working in an externally regulated environment, with a good customer focus General accounting or book keeping experience desirable but not essential
