Overview
We are seeking skilled Pipe-layers and machine operatives to join our construction team for projects across Scotland on a Self-employed basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pipe installation and the ability to work effectively in various environments. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand tools, as well as the capability to assemble and handle materials safely.
Duties
Install, repair, and maintain piping systems for water, sewage, and other fluids.
Assemble pipes and fittings according to specifications and blueprints.
Operate hand tools and machinery for cutting, welding, and shaping pipes.
Conduct basic maths calculations to ensure accurate measurements and installations.
Handle materials efficiently within a construction site environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Pipe-layer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and equipment.
Ability to perform basic maths calculations related to pipe installation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
CSCS Card, UTR Number and NPORS card
A valid driver's licence may be required for transportation of materials to job sites.
Must be willing to work away from home.
Hourly rate - negotiable depending on experience
