We're an established, hands-on owner business, operating from our Mansfield HQ. This is our hub - the home of our customer sales and service desk, management, and stock warehouse.
Our principal activities include the installation and maintenance of digital reception equipment e.g., TV aerials, Satellite dishes, home networks, wall mounting TV's etc and the installation and maintenance of residential garage doors and door automation.
We are successfully implementing an effective plan for the continuing growth of the business, which provides reactive residential maintenance services direct to homeowners and renters.
These services are delivered by a team of full-time employed technicians, or 'techies' as we call them, operating within their local region. Presently, we now field 90+/- Techies and expect to significantly increase their number in 2026
They are supported by customer service, sales and planning teams, handling inbound customer enquiries, quotations, booking and despatching jobs.
We're now in the market for a Planner/Scheduler, at an exciting period for the business.
The planner role is based in Mansfield, at our head office. Reporting to our Service Manager, you will be supporting our field operations by scheduling work, managing Techies, and ensuring our services are delivered to customers as efficiently as possible.
We are presently migrating to a bespoke digital planning platform. You will be working with a mix of digital content and physical postcode maps.
Attention to detail, organisational skills and a pragmatic approach will be crucial. You will be process-driven and will be trained on how to utilise proprietary and bespoke software; therefore, IT literacy is essential for the role.
Teamworking skills are essential, as you need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues at all levels - from senior management to field techies and office staff. You will also be confident and eloquent on the occasions you may be required to communicate with customers.
We will expect you to balance the commercial requirements of the business alongside effective time management. Multi-tasking and prioritising competing requirements, including delegation to other available resources, will be essential.
You will be the kind of person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, where problem-solving skills are key. This means thinking on your feet, making decisions to maximise operational efficiency, whilst working within set processes and protocols.
Responsibilities
Planning:
Arranging and continuously updating in real time, the day's schedules of the Techies.
Optimising efficiency and revenue of said schedule and Techies' time.
Service Desk:
Assisting with our techies' requirements, e.g., stock requests, parts orders, technical queries, and issues that arise while they are on the job.
Dispatching techies from one job to the next.
Customer Service:
Occasionally taking customer payments and covering for service desk team members.*
From time to time, according to the demands of the business, you may be required to perform additional ad-hoc tasks outside of these listed responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
The following are essential requirements in any candidate:
Previous experience in a planning/scheduling role.
Good postcode knowledge of England & Wales.
IT literate.
Confident communicating at all levels.
Good problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Good attention to detail.
Pay & Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time employed position with a basic salary of 30,000 per annum plus performance-related bonuses. (OTE 35,000).
You will work 5 days over 6, including a Saturday rota. (Occasional Sunday )
Please note the default start / finish time may vary to take account of holiday cover and ad-hoc operational requirements.
28 days paid holiday days (including statutory), subject to accrual.
