Stannah have an exciting opportunity for a

Plant Manager

to join the

UK Manufacturing

team based at

Newburn, reporting to the Director of Operations.




This role will involve leading the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of our UK manufacturing facility. Which will cover fabrication, painting, finishing, and associated support functions. As the Plant Manager you will have full responsibility of the plant, ensuring alignment with Stannah group strategy, standards, and the delivery of the Stannah strategic Blueprint.

As the Plant Manager, you will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45, and Friday 08:00 to 13:00, with flexibility required to support business and plant needs.




This role is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving operational excellence within a respected, family-owned business. You will be required to travel regularly between our HQ site in Andover, Hampshire and occasionally to our site in Czech.


This is a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing manager with strong leadership, communication and proven people management skills. It is essential to have a safety-first mindset, be passionate about people development, quality, and continuous improvement.


Within this role you will act as the senior site leader in a unionised environment, maintaining constructive relationships with recognised trade unions to support safe, productive, and sustainable operations. Support consultations, communication, and change processes in line with collective agreements, company policies, and UK employment legislation.


To be successful as the Plant Manager, it is essential that you have previous experience leading operations within a regulated UK manufacturing environment. Experience in metal fabrication, rail systems, or coating, painting operations would be highly desirable.

Plant Manager Responsibilities



Act as the site safety leader, embedding a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation and internal policies. Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and KPIs are achieved. Lead and develop site leadership, operators, and support teams, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and engagement. Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the plant. Manage budgets, cost control, asset maintenance, and performance reporting to senior management. Be a direct report for the Production Manager and a dotted line to our Maintenance, Quality and Engineering Managers across Newburn and Andover.

Qualifications

Plant Manager Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience) desirable Extensive leadership experience in a UK manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation. Proven ability to manage budgets, lead cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement.
