Plant Manager - Energy Operations

What you need to know about the role



We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across the plant. This role involves managing staff, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.



You will lead the production elements of the Energy Operations Department in order to meet the overall business objectives.



As the Plant Manager of our Energy Operations department, you will lead team of circa 75 personnel covering Central Power Station, Turbo blower House and Works Services. This includes the management, control and coordination of multi-disciplined teams within the manufacturing unit, ensuring that team operational targets, customer service and safety objectives are met.



A condition of this position is that the successful candidate's primary residence must be located within a 45-minute commute of the Scunthorpe plant this is required to comply with the COMAH responsibilities or the role.


What we need to know about you

An engineering or operational experience with high level management training (e.g. CMI. MBA, AMDP etc.) is regarded as being Ideal



Ideally you will also have the following experience:
Experience of working in an Upper Tier COMAH site 24 hour operation in an asset of significant size and complexity and around 75 people is required. Leading continuous improvement and significant change programmes. You will be from an engineering or production management background Ideally with experience of power generation. Capable of managing a multi-disciplined shift orientated workforce in order to achieve the objectives of the business and should be capable of determining the operational objectives required to meet the overall business objectives. Examples of safety leadership success, 6 sigma and working within a unionised environment would be an advantage. Comprehensive knowledge of up-to-date Health and Safety Legislation is essential
