Job Description


An excellent opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager to join our team and manage our fleet of specialist hydraulic drilling equipment and traditional civils plant. Additionally the role will be heavily focused on development and construction of new equipment, working closely with our in house Mechanical Design team. Based in Chesterfield, and working hours are 8:00am until 4:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours a week).

The Role:

  • Ensure that all plant and equipment is serviced and repaired safely, on time and to budget by the Plant Department.
  • Work to continually adapt and enhance CAN plant efficiently and to a company standards.
  • Liaise closely with the operations team to ensure that the company has sufficient resources to deliver upcoming workbank.
  • Work closely with the design department to engineer new and innovative solutions for the delivery of highly complex and unusual Geotechnical projects.
  • Problem solve and trouble shoot technical issues as and when they arise- this may require some site visits to be undertaken.
  • Manage warehouse stock and workshop facilities.
  • Carry out all tasks in compliance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s Environmental and Health and Safety Procedures
  • Full time (warehouse based with regular site visits for R&D, problem solving and training)
Experience and skills required:
  • Proven qualifications and experience as a Plant Fitter and proven track record in a managerial post
  • Good knowledge of Hydraulic systems
  • Some experience and knowledge of plant electrical systems.
  • Good Excel and Word skills
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Ability to manage a team of people
  • Self-motivated approach to work and proactive problem solving attitude
  • Flexible, keen to embrace new training opportunities, which may on occasion require staying away
