Smart Platforms is looking for a skilled

Plant Mechanic

to join our team at the Dartford depot. This role focuses on the service, maintenance, and inspection of the boom and hydraulic lifting components of our

vehicle-mounted access platforms

.

You'll be working on equipment that combines elements of plant machinery and powered access -- such as hydraulic arms, outriggers, and rotating platforms -- all mounted on 3.5t and HGV vehicles. This role is ideal for someone with a background in

plant, agricultural, construction, or hydraulic equipment

, who is ready to develop their skills in the powered access sector.

Key Responsibilities

Servicing and repairing hydraulic booms and lifting systems Inspecting and maintaining outriggers, slewing mechanisms, and safety-critical components Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and hydraulic faults Supporting LOLER inspections (training can be provided if not already certified) Completing service records and relevant documentation Participating in the on-call rota as required

Requirements

Background in plant, agricultural, access, or construction equipment maintenance Understanding of hydraulic systems and mechanical fault diagnosis Recognised mechanical qualifications or time-served experience LOLER inspection experience (desirable, but training can be provided) Full UK driving licence Able to work independently and as part of a depot team
