Plant Service Manager

Salary: 55,000 - 62,000 plus Company Van & Fuel Card

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter to join Casey Plant as our Plant Service Manager, based at our site in Rochdale on a full-time, permanent basis.

Who are we looking for?

We're seeking an experienced leader from the plant or heavy equipment sector who combines strong technical knowledge with effective people management. You'll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance across a varied plant fleet, keeping everything running smoothly.

You'll have proven experience leading and developing a team, ensuring high standards are met while monitoring performance, training needs, and day-to-day operations. Strong organisational skills are essential, as you'll manage external works end-to-end - from allocating fitters and ordering parts to liaising with clients and finance.

Hands-on when needed, you'll provide technical support, diagnose faults, and maintain high servicing standards across equipment from leading manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Bell, Komatsu, and Kubota.

A full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points) is required.

The role of a Plant Service Manager at The Casey Group

Take responsibility for managing all reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across the plant fleet.

Lead, manage, and develop the team of plant fitters, including carrying out performance reviews, managing training and development needs, monitoring hours worked, and ensuring payroll is accurately informed.

Oversee and manage the end-to-end process of external chargeable works - from taking job requests and allocating engineers, through parts ordering, monitoring quality and timeliness of repairs, to finalising documentation and liaising with clients and finance for invoicing.

Provide hands-on technical support to engineers, including diagnosing faults over the phone or attending site when additional assistance is required.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the InspHire plant hire management system, ensuring all servicing and repair data is logged and available for reporting.

Ensure high standards of repair and servicing are maintained across a wide range of plant equipment including excavators, dozers, ADTs, crushers, screeners, telehandlers, and rollers from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Bell, Powerscreen, Sandvik, McCluskey, Kubota, Bomag, JCB, and Merlo.
