Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plastering techniques and have experience working with various materials. This role involves applying plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth finish, and preparing surfaces for painting or decoration. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents as necessary. Mix plaster and apply it to walls and ceilings using appropriate techniques to achieve a smooth finish. Repair damaged plasterwork and ensure surfaces are ready for painting or decoration. Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing plaster materials. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and bricklayers to ensure project timelines are met. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Inspect completed work for quality assurance before finalising projects.

Experience

Proven experience as a Plasterer or in a similar role within the construction industry is essential. Familiarity with masonry techniques is advantageous. Experience using power tools and hand tools related to plastering work is required. Knowledge of roof structures and the ability to perform basic bricklaying tasks would be beneficial. Previous experience in welding is a plus but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills is necessary for success in this role.
