Plasterers

James Frew Ltd is now one of the largest privately owned building services companies in Scotland, providing property solutions, including plumbing, heating, mechanical services, gas maintenance, and building upgrades for the public and private sectors. Based in Stevenston Ayrshire, Glasgow, Inverclyde, and Dumfries, we directly employ over 410 people including 56 apprentices.

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Plasterer to join our forward-thinking team to help deliver our strategic priorities. This position is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced organisation committed to operational excellence.

As a James Frew Plasterer you will be required to work within our busy modernisation teams, providing follow up plastering works for electrical rewiring, kitchens. and central heating installations.

The successful candidate will:

Have served a recognised apprenticeship in construction encompassing the application of solid plaster systems, using one, two or three coat applications using a variety of materials including heritage plaster systems.

Have at least a minimum of 1-year post qualification experience and a clean current driving licence.

Have a proven track record working within the private and social housing sectors.

Be an excellent team-player and negotiator with effective communication skills.

Be determined to succeed with a positive "can-do" attitude and able to engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels.

James Frew Plasterer will be responsible for:

Identifying and preparing surfaces for Plastering.

Determining the appropriate quantity and ratio of materials.

Mechanically installing plasterboard to timber and lightweight metal framing.

To directly bond plasterboard to masonry.

Renovating and restoring internal and external surfaces back to their original condition.

Fixing beads, trims using adhesives and form mechanical keys as required.

Supporting high levels of customer satisfaction and deliver operational excellence across all aspects of the organisation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
