Job Summary
Quickparts is seeking a
Plastics 3D Printing Technician
to support the production of plastic prototypes and end-use components at our
High Wycombe, UK
site. In this workshop-based role, you will operate and maintain SLA and SLS machines, manage materials, execute hands-on post-processing, and ensure parts are finished to specification and delivered on time. You will collaborate with the wider team on design suitability, prepare CAD files and support structures, schedule projects and machines, and assist with metrology and inspection.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operations & Materials
Prepare and run SLA and SLS printing machines, including resin and powder management and loading/unloading build platforms.
Perform preventative maintenance and keep equipment in optimal condition.
Post-Processing & Quality
Conduct hands-on post-processing: support removal, surface finishing, and part preparation through delivery of finished components.
Assist with metrology and inspection using hand tools, CMM, and laser scanning.
CAD & Production Readiness
Prepare CAD files, work with customer-supplied data, and design 3D printing support structures.
Collaborate with the team to review design suitability for 3D printing.
Scheduling & Workplace Standards
Schedule projects and machines to meet deadlines.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications
Essential
Practical experience in engineering or model making.
Clean, methodical work approach and strong team player.
Basic understanding of 3D CAD.
Hands-on, practical mentality with excellent verbal and written communication.
Computer literate.
Desirable
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
Ability to work with 3D CAD software.
Experience with plastics 3D printing technology, preferably SLA. Training will be provided.
