This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The Role



?

We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our team in Egremont. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding sheet metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and experience in welding and fabrication to contribute to high-quality projects within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities



Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on sheet metal components. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate and assemble parts according to technical specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication. Handle sheet metal with care, ensuring precise cuts, bends, and assemblies. Conduct quality checks on finished products to meet safety standards and client requirements. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist in the setup and calibration of fabrication machinery as needed.

Experience



Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques involving sheet metal. Knowledge of welding safety procedures and best practices. Experience in assembly processes within a manufacturing or fabrication environment is desirable. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.

Qualifications



NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field - Required GCSE at 'C' grade or above in English, Maths and in science or technical subject- Desirable Membership of appropriate technical / professional body- Desirable CSCS card for the relevant trade- Desirable Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent- Desirable (Relevant Training will be provided)
