Job Title: Steel Plate Fabricator / Welder
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to 17.00 per hour (depending on experience) + Overtime available

About the Position
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Steel Plate Fabricator/Welder to become a key member of our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson with strong MIG welding capabilities and expertise in heavy plate fabrication, working with materials ranging from 10mm to 100mm in thickness. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and pride themselves on delivering high-quality, precise workmanship.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to detailed engineering drawings Execute MIG welding to a high standard, ensuring durable, accurate, and clean welds Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately Operate workshop machinery and tools safely and efficiently Conduct quality inspections to ensure parts meet specified standards Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe work environment Work independently and collaboratively within a skilled team
Candidate Profile

Demonstrable experience in plate fabrication, MIG welding, and general steel fabrication Strong mechanical aptitude with basic fault-finding skills Confident in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks Basic mathematical skills for measuring, marking, and calculations Dependable, self-motivated, and a team player
