Job Title: Steel Plate Fabricator / Welder

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to 17.00 per hour (based on experience) + Overtime available

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Steel Plate Fabricator/Welder to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This hands-on position is perfect for an experienced tradesperson with strong MIG welding skills and expertise in heavy plate fabrication, working with materials ranging from 10mm to 100mm in thickness. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail and take pride in delivering high-quality, precise workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components following detailed engineering drawings

- Perform MIG welding to a high standard, ensuring strong, accurate, and clean welds

- Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

- Safely and efficiently operate workshop machinery and tools

- Conduct quality inspections to ensure parts meet specified standards

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

- Work both independently and collaboratively within a skilled team

Candidate Profile

- Proven experience in plate fabrication, MIG welding, and general steel fabrication

- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills

- Confident in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks

- Basic mathematical skills for measuring, marking, and calculations

- Reliable, self-motivated, and a team player
