About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Steel Plate Fabricator/Welder to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson with strong MIG welding abilities and extensive experience in heavy plate fabrication, working with materials between 10mm and 100mm thick. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality, accurate work.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble structural steel components in line with detailed engineering drawings Carry out MIG welding to a high standard, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints with precision Safely and efficiently operate workshop tools, machinery, and equipment Perform quality checks to confirm components meet required specifications Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment Work independently as well as collaboratively within a skilled team

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in plate fabrication, MIG welding, and general steel fabrication Strong mechanical aptitude with basic problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work Basic maths skills for measuring, marking, and calculations Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player
