Job Title: Steel Plate Fabricator/Welder

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to 17.00 per hour (dependent on experience) + Overtime Available

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Steel Plate Fabricator/Welder to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This hands-on position is perfect for an experienced tradesperson with strong MIG welding skills and extensive experience in heavy plate fabrication, working with materials ranging from 10mm to 100mm thick. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering high-quality, precise work.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to detailed engineering drawings.

- Perform MIG welding to a high standard, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds.

- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints with precision.

- Safely and efficiently operate workshop tools, machinery, and equipment.

- Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a skilled team.

Candidate Profile

- Proven experience in plate fabrication, MIG welding, and general steel fabrication.

- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

- Basic math skills for measuring, marking, and calculations.

- Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
