Duties

Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials. Fabricate components by measuring, cutting, and shaping sheet metal using appropriate tools and techniques. Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts, ensuring alignment and quality standards are met. Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated parts for defects or inconsistencies. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Requirements

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. Strong understanding of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles. Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Knowledge of welding safety procedures and ability to work in a safe manner at all times. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications is desirable. Previous experience in fabrication or assembly roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
