Play Lounge Supervisor

The Little Play Lounge, an independent and stylish children's play cafe in West Berkshire, is looking for a supervisor to join our growing team. We are expanding our business and launching a brand-new menu, so this is an exciting opportunity to be part of something special as we continue to create a welcoming space for families to relax and play.

As the Play Lounge Supervisor, you will oversee all aspect of the daily business operation which includes food preparation, play area set up, toy rotation and cleaning, food safety and hygiene practices.

You will be hands-on in making food, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritise the workload to deliver excellent customer service.

Experience in supervising a cafe or similar food service environment is ideal but not required.

3 to 4 days in the week
2 to 3 Saturday's a month

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the cafe. Take and process customer orders, serve food and drinks efficiently. Ensure the play area is clean, tidy and session ready. Clean and rotate toys as necessary. Manage the diary of ad-hoc bookings and weekly events, ensuring the rooms are set up and clean as required. Supervise and motivate the team to foster a positive work environment. Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations Manage inventory, track stock levels, place orders as needed, whilst being waste contentious. Collaborate with the management team to develop, test, and implement the cafe's menu. Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere, focusing on the specific needs of families with young children or new parents. Address customer enquiries and resolve any concerns or issues promptly, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

Demonstrated experience within a cafe. Understanding of food safety regulations. Leadership and team management abilities. Capable of performing efficiently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality. A positive, proactive mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for working in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 17 per week
