Playworker - Afterschool Club (Bridgend & Surrounding Areas)

Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 2:20pm - 5:30pm (hours may vary - flexibility required)

Location:

Bridgend and surrounding areas

Requirements:

Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle

Salary:

13 hourly rate.

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and proactive Playworker to join our friendly Afterschool Club team in Bridgend and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, support their play and development, and ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment after school hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and lead a variety of fun and inclusive play activities. Supervise and engage with children aged 4-11, promoting their social and emotional development. Support healthy snack times and encourage positive behaviour. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised play environment following safeguarding and health & safety procedures. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other staff members. Attend Training sessions as required.

Skills and Experience:

A relevant childcare or playwork qualification (preferred but not essential). Experience of working with children in a play, childcare, or educational setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan age-appropriate activities. Good organisational and time management skills. Understanding of safeguarding and children's wellbeing.
