Playworker (Part-Time - 16.5 Hours/Week)



Location: Deganwy Playgroup
Hours: Part-time, 16.5 hours per week with potential overtime. Hours reviewed annually.
Salary: 12.21 p.h
Start Date: 4th September 2025

About the Role



We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable

Playworker

to join our friendly team at a well-established local playgroup. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children's development through play in a caring, safe, and fun environment.

You will work alongside the Playleader and Playgroup Manager to help deliver stimulating and engaging sessions that meet the needs of each child. This role requires a hands-on attitude, great communication skills, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.

Responsibilities



Support the daily running of the playroom and planned play sessions. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children aged [insert age range if applicable]. Engage with children through creative, physical, and social play activities. Supervise children at all times, ensuring their wellbeing and safety. Assist with setting up and tidying away resources before and after sessions. Maintain accurate records including attendance and safety checks. Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies. Communicate professionally with parents, carers, and team members. Take part in relevant training and development opportunities.

What We're Looking For



Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Childcare

(or equivalent qualification) Experience in a playgroup, nursery, or childcare setting Knowledge of

CIW care standards

and child protection procedures Ability to work well in a team and independently when needed Reliable, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic Welsh language skills are a plus
