Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be committed to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in childcare to utilise their management and leadership skills while supporting children's development through play. The Play Worker will be responsible for organising activities, supervising children, and fostering positive interactions within our community setting.

Duties

Organise and facilitate a variety of play activities suitable for children of different ages and interests Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety at all times Support children's emotional and social development through positive engagement and communication Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment for children and staff Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding children's progress and behaviour Manage behaviour positively, promoting inclusivity and respect among children Support with transportation or driving duties as required to facilitate outings or activities outside the centre

Qualifications

Experience working with children in childcare is highly desirable Strong management and leadership skills to oversee activities and guide younger staff or volunteers Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary Childcare qualifications or willingness to obtain A caring attitude with patience, creativity, and organisational skills to support children's needs effectively
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 19.5 per week
