We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and early childhood education, with the ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults. This role is essential in supporting the development of children through play, fostering their creativity, social skills, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and helping them develop social skills.
Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using leadership skills to guide children in resolving conflicts.
Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive atmosphere for both children and parents.
Keep accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur during play sessions.
Requirements
Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
Willing to undertake further training to gain qualifications (NVQ level 2/3)
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to lead activities and manage groups of children effectively.
A genuine drive to promote children's development through creative play experiences.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with young children.
Ability to be able to communicate using the Welsh language.
