Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team within a school setting, supporting children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children aged 4-12 years. Experience would be beneficial, but if not full training will be provided. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's development through organised play activities, fostering creativity, social skills, and confidence. The position is suitable for individuals committed to providing high-quality childcare in a nurturing setting.

Duties

Organise and supervise play activities suitable for children of various ages, ensuring safety at all times Support children's emotional and social development through engaging interactions and encouragement Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children during play sessions Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure clear understanding of needs Assist with the organisation of the club, including setting up equipment and materials Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the play environment Support children's behavioural management using positive reinforcement techniques

Experience

Previous experience working with children would be desirable, but a positive attitude and ability to communicate well with children is most important. Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults alike Driving would be an advantage if you are not local, as the club times are not accessible by public transport.
This role is term time only, with the exception of 3 weeks during the summer holidays when we run our Summer Holiday club where additional hours may be required.

We have two positions available,

Mon-Fri 7am-8.30am & 3pm-6pm - 22.5 hrs per week

Monday & Wednesday 3pm-5.30pm - 5 hrs per week plus occasional bank staff

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.40-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 22.5 per week
