JOB DESCRIPTION



Post:

Playworker (Practitioner in Day Care services for children)

Responsible to:

Playleader/Lead Practitioner/Management Committee

Purpose of the job:

To assist in the provision of high quality, age appropriate activities and play experiences for all children attending CASC. Contribute to the smooth running of the service.

Qualifications:

SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SQF Level 7 or SVQ III in Playwork. If candidates do not hold the qualification they must be willing to work toward a qualification within the SSSC Timescales. Relevant qualifications will be considered.

Key Tasks



Contribute to the provision of high quality out of school are. Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive range of age appropriate, stimulating and creative activities which meet group and individual needs.

Contribute to the provision of a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the service

Work to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of children attending the club, responding appropriately to accidents and emergency situations and administering First Aid as required.

Undertake a range of general duties and tasks to include tidying and cleaning after each session and maintenance of equipment and resources.

Work within and adhere to the policies and procedures of the service and contribute to their regular review.

Implement all policies and procedures relating to the safety and protection of children.

Contribute to the provision of a range of healthy snacks and refreshments.

Contribute to the work of the team through active participation in team meetings, training and development opportunities.

Liaise with parents, school professionals and related agencies as required to ensure a high quality service.

Undertake other reasonable and relevant tasks as identified by the Playleader, Lead Practitioner or Management Committee.

Children, parents, Management Committee, Head Teacher/s, School secretary, Teachers and Facilities Management.

Supervision

: The post holder will work closely with the Playleader who will be their line manager. The post holder will be expected to use their initiative where appropriate.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.40 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 per week
