Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team at our afterschool club in Ysgol Bro Taf. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and committed to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop management and leadership skills while supporting the early development of children through organised play activities. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs.

Duties



Organise and supervise play activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development of children. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times during play sessions. Support children in developing their communication skills through interactive play and engagement. Manage behaviour effectively, creating a positive environment that encourages cooperation and respect. Collaborate with colleagues to plan age-appropriate activities aligned with developmental milestones. Maintain a clean and organised play area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour. Assist in the organisation of outings or trips, including transportation if required.

Experience



Previous experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with children, parents, and team members. Experience with behaviour management techniques suitable for young children. Knowledge of health and safety standards related to childcare environments. Driving experience with a valid licence is advantageous for supporting transportation duties. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
