We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Play Workers to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting. As a Play Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering children's development through creative play and structured activities and supporting staff during our wrap around care provision ( breakfast and/ or after school clubs).
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive community.
Manage behaviour by setting clear boundaries and encouraging positive interactions among children.
Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
Assist in the preparation of snacks and meals as required, adhering to dietary needs.
Support the development of children's independence through guided play experiences.
Document children's progress and share observations with parents or guardians as necessary.
Requirements
A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is required
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children of various ages.
A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to inspire creativity through play.
Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
A valid driver's licence may be beneficial for transporting children if required by the role.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
