Project Indi is local grassroots charity based in Stoke on Trent. We support vulnerable and disabled adults, children, and their families to reach their full potential.

We support our members to regularly access a range of diverse activities and workshops at our inclusive hub, The Indi Club. We are partnered and work with a variety of local businesses, activity providers and workshop leaders to deliver specialised activity programmes that aim to empower independence, champion inclusion, and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

Role Overview


Working as part of our children's services team, you will help to deliver an entertaining and engaging activities programme that promotes the wellbeing of children with special educational needs or disabilities. You will work closely with children and families and deliver person-centred support in a group environment to empower our members to grow, develop and thrive.

This role is located at The Indi Club, where you will assist in delivering our weekly Kindi Club after-school sessions and monthly Kindi Famili sessions. Additional hours are available during school holidays for our holiday activity programme.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:



Work alongside our children's services team to deliver specialised activities and community events suitable for children, young people and families, ensuring sessions are adaptable to include and meet the needs of all young people. Coordinate session activity partners and assist in the setting up and breakdown of activities. Assist in the running and development of The Indi Club, including organising consumables, general appearance, cleaning and supporting visitors. Support with the assessment and induction of new members. Engage and build positive, trusted relationships with young people and families and support them to Integrate, grow, and thrive. To maintain our online booking systems and assist with session attendance records.

About You



If you have experience of working with children with special educational needs or disabilities, then this could be the role for you! You will need to work on your own initiative, be creative and have a 'can do' attitude to be successful in this role. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The people we support, and their families are at the centre of what we do. We are looking for individuals who have the right skills, experience, and are passionate about empowering children and young people.

Requirements



Experience of working with young people and an understanding of the current challenges they face. Ability to communicate and engage with young people and their parents/guardians in both large group and individual settings. Good knowledge of and a commitment to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equality Diversity and Inclusion.

Interviews: will be held on an ongoing basis. Please note we may close the position early if a suitable candidate is found.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 per week
