At an exciting time for women\xe2\x80\x99s performance rugby in Wales, Swansea University, in partnership with Ospreys Rugby, have been awarded a WRU Player Development Centre (PDC) for West Wales. As one of three centres in the PDC network, we will deliver a localised and high-quality day-to-day training and coaching programme for the Wales\xe2\x80\x99 most high potential, pre-elite female players.

We are now seeking to appoint the Player Development Centre Lead to drive forward the implementation and operation of the PDC during the inaugural two seasons.

The purpose of the PDC Lead is to create an inspiring and transformational development environment for Wales\xe2\x80\x99 next generation of national and international female rugby players in West Wales. The PDC Lead will have the responsibility for the leadership and management of the PDC programme and plan to service 20 to 35 players annually through a minimum of between 15 and 20 hours of contact time per month between July and May.

This role will drive the player and person development philosophy and standards of the PDC as well as the day-to-day training that optimises player transition by preparing individuals for the demands of the next level of performance rugby, while also ensuring players educational (and professional) needs are integrated within their rugby player development. This role will also work closely with Swansea University\xe2\x80\x99s Women\xe2\x80\x99s Rugby programme, helping to implement and drive standards forward, both on and off the pitch, utilising the available resource to benefit both programmes.

The post is based at the Swansea Bay Sports Park and will work throughout the West Wales region to deliver the PDC objectives.
