Treetops is the Lisvane community playgroup and has been in existence since 1967, providing quality care for girls and boys aged 2 to 5 years, with or without additional needs.

Our aim is to provide safe, secure and stimulating environment in which all children have the opportunity to learn and develop through play and where there is equality of opportunity for all children and families.

As a community group we offer families opportunities to be directly involved in the activities of the group and in their own child's progress.

Job description

Responsible for:

Assisting at sessions as directed by the Playleader.

Purpose of Job

: To assist the playleader in providing for the needs of all children in the setting.

Main Duties

1) To assist in providing safe, stimulating group play to meet all areas of learning and all needs of each child.

2) To assist the playleader in setting out group equipment before each session commences, clearing away after the children have left and ensuring that all equipment is in a good state of repair.

3) To support the philosophy of a community group.

4) To attend training courses such as First Aid, Food Hygiene, etc as required.

5) To complete individual child records and fulfil other key worker responsibilities, including compiling children's scrapbooks.

6) Responsibility for preparing and serving a healthy, nutritious daily snack for the children and cleaning up afterwards.

7) Supervising children's toileting and personal hygiene requirements.

You maybe required to carry out other duties as required for the job role

Previous Experience (preferred)

Knowledge of development of under fives

Knowledge of working in a playgroup setting

Qualifications

At minimum Cache/NVQ level 3 in childcare, or willingness to work towards this upon commencing employment.

The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour
