We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childhood education and be committed to fostering the development of children through play-based activities. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for supervising children, facilitating play, and ensuring their wellbeing while promoting positive interactions.
Working hours are Monday-Thursday 14:30-17:30 Friday 12:30-17:00. These hours are non-negotiable, unfortunately, as this is the after school times. Respectfully, please only apply if you are able to work this Shift pattern.
Duties
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social skills, and physical development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
Manage behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
Support children's individual needs, including those with additional requirements or special educational needs.
Drive initiatives that promote teamwork and leadership among the children in your care.
Experience
Previous experience in childcare or early years education is desired, preferably within a nursery or similar setting.
A strong understanding of child development principles and the importance of play in learning is required.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with children and parents alike.
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively while fostering an inclusive environment.
A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous but not mandatory.
