Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality play opportunities within a safe, stimulating, and caring environment.
Ensure the smooth running of daily operations, including managing routines and transitions.
Develop relationships with parents, carers, schools, and external agencies when needed.
Childcare and Playwork:
Provide comprehensive care for children, including collecting them from classrooms and ensuring they are signed out by appropriate adults.
Set up and pack away the play space, including moving furniture and play equipment.
Provide healthy refreshments and ensure hygiene, health, and safety standards are consistently met.
Administer first aid when necessary and maintain accurate records.
Engagement and Inclusion:
Consult with children and involve them in planning activities that reflect their interests and developmental needs.
Encourage and facilitate parental involvement in the club's activities and development.
Promote inclusive play and ensure all children feel valued and supported.
Administration and Compliance:
Work within the framework of the club's policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management.
Professional Development:
Undertake relevant training and continuous professional development.
Keep up to date with best practices in playwork and childcare.

Experience of working with 4- to 11-year-olds
Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care

Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*
Experience of working within a play-based setting
