Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and organising fun play activities, whilst ensuring a high standard of childcare and activity delivery.

Hours of work and rate of pay

After School Club

hours are 2.45-5.30, 3-5 days a week. If you are interested in

Breakfast Club

hours, these may be available and are 7.20am- 8.50am, 2-3 days a week. In addition, we operate

Holiday Clubs

during every school holiday and various shifts are available here between 7.45am-5.15pm. *Rate of pay depends on age, experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Organise and supervise play activities suitable for children age 4-11 years, ensuring safety at all times. Support children's social, emotional, and physical development through engaging play sessions. Manage behaviour effectively, promoting positive interactions among children. Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Assist with setting up activity areas and preparing materials needed for play sessions. Ensure all activities are inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for every child.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children. Childcare qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates.
