To deliver high-quality plumbing repairs, maintenance, and minor installation work to tenanted and void social housing properties. The role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach, with an emphasis on safety, compliance, and first-time fix.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks in response to tenant-reported issues or planned works, including:
Repair or replacement of taps, toilets, sinks, showers, and pipework
Fixing leaks, blockages, burst pipes, and drainage issues
Repair or installation of radiators and hot water systems (non-gas)
Work in both occupied and void properties across a portfolio of social housing.
Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant health and safety and building regulations.
Undertake fault-finding and diagnostic work to identify causes of issues and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Liaise directly with customers to arrange access and communicate clearly about the nature and timeline of the work.
Accurately record job details using handheld devices.
Carry out basic multi-skilled tasks when required to complete jobs (e.g., minor tiling, sealing, boxing-in).
Participate in the emergency out-of-hours call-out rota, including evenings and weekends (if applicable).
Maintain van stock levels and ensure tools, equipment, and company vehicle are clean, serviceable, and used responsibly.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Plumbing or equivalent trade qualification.
Demonstrable experience in reactive plumbing maintenance, ideally within social housing or a domestic setting.
Working knowledge of water regulations and building standards.
Full UK driving licence.
Awareness of safeguarding and the sensitivities of working in vulnerable or occupied households.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience with wet rooms, adaptations, or disabled facilities installations.
CSR card or equivalent H&S training.
Asbestos awareness, working at height, and manual handling training.
Experience using digital job management systems or handheld devices.
Basic multi-trade skills (e.g., tiling, minor plastering, basic carpentry).
