seeking an experienced Plumber (ideally with heating engineering experience)
to join our team in the Bromley area. In this role, you will work on
residential maintenance and reactive repair projects
. You will be responsible for servicing and repairing domestic plumbing systems, responding to emergency call-outs, and ensuring our clients' plumbing and heating systems are safe and functioning efficiently. This is a
full-time permanent position

Key Responsibilities
Plumbing Maintenance & Repairs:
Carry out a wide range of plumbing tasks in
residential properties
, including fixing leaks, repairing burst pipes, unclogging drains, and replacing or installing fixtures (taps, toilets, showers, etc.). Handle
reactive repairs
efficiently to address urgent issues.
Heating Systems (Desirable):
If qualified, service and maintain domestic heating systems - e.g. assist with boiler checks, radiator installations, and hot water cylinder maintenance. (Note: Our company is Gas Safe registered, so
Gas Safe engineers
can perform gas work under our registration. Gas experience is a bonus but not mandatory.)
Emergency Call-Outs:
Participate in a rota for
out-of-hours or weekend support
as required. (Generally this may involve roughly one weekend per month or occasional evenings for emergency call-outs.
Additional pay or time off
will be provided for call-outs as agreed.)
Customer Service:
Interact professionally with homeowners and tenants. Provide friendly, knowledgeable service, explain work needed (in plain terms), and ensure customer satisfaction on each job.
Quality & Compliance:
Complete all work to a
high standard of quality
, following industry best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and safety standards (including
health and safety protocols
on site). Accurately diagnose issues and propose effective solutions.
Travel:
Manage your daily schedule to cover jobs across Bromley and nearby areas (within approximately 15 miles of BR7).
Travel time
is part of the job - a
company van
(with fuel and tools) will be provided for work use to facilitate getting to client sites.
Record-Keeping:
Maintain clear records of work done, parts used, and any recommendations for further work. (Use our job management app or paperwork as required.) This helps ensure transparency and follow-up for the client and team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Plumber (domestic/residential focus). Experience with heating systems or as a multi-trade engineer is a
strong advantage
.
Education/Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent City & Guilds qualification in Plumbing & Heating).
Additional certifications
are highly desirable - for example:
Unvented Hot Water Cylinder (G3) certificate- experience with unvented systems is a plus.
Gas qualifications(Gas Safe registration or worked under a Gas Safe company) - nice to have, but not mandatory (as gas work can be done under our company's registration).
Water Regulations, Energy Efficiency, or other plumbing/heating certifications- any extra qualifications will make you stand out.
Licenses:
Full UK driving licence
required
(as a company van will be provided for travel to jobs).
Clearance:
Must be willing to undergo a
DBS check
(criminal record check) - a clean record is required since you will be entering private homes.
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills in diagnosing plumbing issues. Able to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate with a team when needed. Good communication skills with both customers and the office team.
Work Ethic:
Punctual, reliable, and well-organized. Takes pride in workmanship and maintains a neat/tidy work environment in customers' homes. Committed to
health & safety
compliance at all times (e.g. proper use of PPE, safe tool operation).
Physical Ability:
The job can be physically demanding - you should be comfortable with bending, lifting, working in confined spaces (like under sinks or in lofts), and handling tools/equipment safely.
Other:
Valid right to work in the UK. Familiarity with using smartphone or tablet apps for job logs or communications is a plus (for updating job statuses, etc.).
What We Offer
Competitive Pay:
200 per day (approx. 48-52k per annum). Note: Payment is provided via the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).This rate is designed to attract experienced talent - we value your skills and expertise. (Higher rates or bonuses may be available for exceptional experience or overtime work.)

You will be provided with a
company van

Paid Travel Time:
As you'll be mobile, travel between jobs within the coverage area is part of your day - we ensure your day rate covers your working time including reasonable travel between client sites. (No long-distance travel beyond the local area.)
Overtime & On-Call Pay:
We offer additional compensation for any approved overtime, weekend call-outs, or emergency after-hours work. (Details can be discussed - we ensure any extra hours are
paid fairly
or taken as time off in lieu.)
Training & Development:
We believe in growing our team's skills. If you're looking to obtain further qualifications (such as Gas Safe registration, advanced NVQs, or additional certifications), we can
support with training
or mentorship. You'll be working with experienced engineers and have opportunities to broaden your skill set (e.g. learning heating systems, new plumbing technology, etc.).
