As a Plumber at Sticky Baits, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our plumbing systems across the factory and office facilities. Your work will cover the installation, repair, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures, and appliances, as well as associated mechanical and carpentry tasks where required.
This role demands a hands-on, solutions-focused approach with strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills. You will work independently and alongside other team members, ensuring all plumbing work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, supporting both production operations and office functionality.
Roles and Responsibilities
Plumbing Installation & Maintenance
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, appliances, and associated equipment.
Ensure plumbing installations meet company, regulatory, and safety standards.
Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and operational disruptions.
Mechanical & Technical Work
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete plumbing tasks.
Perform welding tasks as required for pipe fittings and repairs.
Assemble and install plumbing components and systems with precision.
Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues efficiently.
Carpentry & Supporting Tasks
Undertake basic carpentry work related to plumbing installations when necessary.
Execute heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks associated with plumbing systems.
Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.
Project Planning & Coordination
Plan and prioritise work activities to meet project schedules and operational requirements.
Collaborate with other departments, contractors, and site staff to minimise disruption to daily operations.
Estimate materials and resources needed for plumbing tasks and liaise with procurement where necessary.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all plumbing work complies with health and safety regulations.
Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Follow company procedures for tools, equipment, and materials handling.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any maintenance activities.
Report progress, issues, and completion of plumbing projects to the Site Manager or Operations Manager.
Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting practical solutions and efficiency improvements.
Customer Service & Teamwork
Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with colleagues, management, and any on-site visitors.
Support and guide junior team members or apprentices when required.
Maintain clear communication with management and other departments regarding work priorities and scheduling.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Plumber is essential.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food production or animal feed manufacturing, is highly desirable.
Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools specific to plumbing tasks.
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic measurements and calculations.
Carpentry experience is beneficial for related installations.
A valid commercial driving licence is an asset for transporting materials to job sites.
