Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Plumbing Counter Assistant to join our busy shop in Kentish Town. This role is central to the smooth running of our trade counter, and we are looking for someone with strong, practical plumbing knowledge who can confidently assist both trade professionals and DIY customers with technical queries and product selection.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert guidance and product recommendations to customers based on detailed plumbing knowledge. Serve customers promptly and professionally at the trade counter. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plumbing products, fittings, and systems. Process orders and sales transactions efficiently using in-house systems. Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure correct stock levels and timely order fulfilment. Handle customer queries, returns, and complaints with a solutions-focused approach. Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked counter area. Support other members of the team in day-to-day shop operations. Safely lift and move plumbing materials and equipment as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:

Extensive hands-on plumbing experience or technical knowledge is essential. Previous experience in a merchant, plumbing wholesaler, or trade counter role. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first attitude. Good working knowledge of common plumbing brands and fittings. Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer software. Physically fit - capable of lifting heavy stock and working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
Desirable but not essential:

Experience in general building or maintenance trades. Forklift licence or experience handling deliveries.

Pay: 26,000.00-34,000.00 per year
