Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Aluminium Polisher to join our production team. This role is responsible for grinding back welds and polishing aluminium components using abrasive wheels, pedestal grinders, and other finishing tools. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and experience in metal finishing processes.

Duties

Grind and smooth aluminium welds to achieve a clean, consistent finish Operate pedestal grinders, handheld abrasive tools, and other finishing equipment safely and efficiently Inspect and assess weld quality before and after polishing Maintain high standards of finish, ensuring components meet quality and aesthetic requirements Follow work orders, production drawings, and company standards for each job Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all health and safety protocols Perform routine maintenance and checks on polishing and grinding equipment Report any defects, issues, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and other team members to meet production schedules

Skills

Previous experience in metal finishing, polishing, or grinding (preferably aluminium) Skilled in using pedestal grinders, belt sanders, and various abrasive tools Strong understanding of material characteristics, especially aluminium Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings or instructions Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Good physical stamina and ability to work in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with health and safety standards in a workshop setting Basic understanding of surface preparation for anodising or powder coating

Pay: 15.59 per hour
