Job description




This role is situated in our Portfolio Management Office (PMO)

which acts as an independent corporate change governance

group that will prioritise, direct and support all current and

future COPFS transformational change projects and

processes.



As one of our PMO Analysts, you will be responsible for

providing accurate and comprehensive analysis on our

Portfolio projects throughout the end-to-end project's

lifecycles.



SCOPE OF THE ROLE



o Provide exception reporting, support compliance and

monitor progress of the Portfolio, including portfolio

variation management.

o Provide analysis findings and recommendations to the

Executive and Senior Management the information to

enable key decision making in regard to the portfolio

o Maintaining schedules and plans, financial monitoring,

supporting wider PMO decisions, maintaining risks,

actions and issues, dependency and resource

management as well as documentation and

communication



ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES



o Undertake root cause and effect problem analysis,

identify potential solutions to resolve, collaborating with

others working on the project and wider teams to

achieve goals.

o Conduct data gathering and analysis and provide

summarised reports

o Document outputs appropriately to enable clear

stakeholder understanding.

o Develop, maintain and co-ordinate the production of

management dashboards/reports to support

governance and ensuring a consistent approach to

reporting.

o Provide a strategic overview of all Programmes and

Projects by collating, analysing and evaluating data,

reporting any areas of concern to relevant Senior

Management.

o Evaluate and implement process improvements to

enable more effective delivery.

o Support Senior Management in championing and

embedding standard practices across the organisation.

o Compile and provide monthly Benefits reporting and

assess benefits management across the Portfolio to

identify gaps, overlaps and conflicts and eliminate

double counting.

o Program/Project Status Reporting: metrics & narrative

status reporting, variances & trend analysis. Includes

generation of reports following predefined frameworks

as well as preparation of custom reports as per project

needs Adoption & implementation of best practices and

standard PMO processes.

Person specification




This role will generally suit applicants who have previously worked in a PMO setting and enjoy working with a diverse range of

colleagues from different professions and backgrounds, including criminal justice partners. You will be analysing data across a

range of projects in our portfolio and must be comfortable working remotely across different business areas.

Applicants who are knowledgeable or have experience in implementing dashboards and automating data to make insights easily

accessible would be beneficial.



ESSENTIAL CRITERIA



Please note the competencies referred to in this pack form the key essential criteria for the role. You will also be required to

demonstrate:



o Experience of delivering analytical products within a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) setting.

o Knowledge or experience of utilising a range of analytical techniques (qualitative or quantitative).

o Exemplary communication skills and the ability to explain complex information to a variety of stakeholders, including nonspecialists.

o Analytical and investigative skills showcasing the ability to articulate and solve complex problems.

o Report writing and presentation skills focussing on attention to detail and data accuracy.

o Ability to present research and data visually and in a compelling way

o Adaptable working style to balance competing demands, taking accountability for their actions
