About the Role

Provide Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in the Mansfield area who are seeking a dedicated

Post 16 SEN Teacher

to join their team from September. This is a full-time position, with interviews taking place prior to the summer holidays.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students aged 16+, many of whom have a range of

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

, including Autism, SEMH, and complex learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping students develop life skills, independence, and vocational knowledge, ensuring they are prepared for adulthood.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to Post 16 learners with SEND. Support students with developing both academic and vocational skills. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies. Create an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment. Manage behaviour positively and promote independence and resilience. Track progress and provide regular feedback to pupils, parents, and senior staff.
Candidate Requirements

QTS or QTLS

(essential). Experience working with Post 16 learners, ideally within a SEN or alternative provision setting. Strong understanding of

differentiated teaching strategies

for a wide range of needs. A creative, flexible, and nurturing approach. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
