The Post Office Counter Clerk oversees the daily operations of a post office, ensuring efficient service, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with postal regulations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities



Operations Management



Oversee daily operations, ensuring timely mail processing and delivery.

Optimize workflow processes for efficiency. Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available.

Customer Service



Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly. Implement and monitor customer service initiatives.

Financial Management



Monitor and manage the post office budget and expenses.

Conduct regular audits and ensure accurate financial reporting. Handle cash transactions and ensure fund security.

Compliance and Security



Ensure compliance with postal regulations and policies.

Maintain the security of the premises and safeguard mail and assets. Implement safety protocols to protect employees and customers.

Community Engagement



Represent the post office in the community.

Build relationships with local businesses and stakeholders. Promote postal services to increase engagement and sales.

Qualifications



Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

2-5 years in postal operations or retail management

Skills:



Strong leadership and team management.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficient in financial management and budgeting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer applications and postal management software.

Knowledge:



Understanding of postal regulations and procedures.

Knowledge of safety and security protocols.

Physical Requirements



Ability to lift and move packages up to [weight] lbs.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Capability to work in varying environmental conditions.
