Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Poultry Broiler Area Manager to oversee the operations of a substantial broiler chicken operation based on a number of farms in the Humberside area. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to ensure that effective and efficient operation of the broiler units and hold the responsibility for the overall performance of the farms. This role will be directly responsible to the General Manager and Poultry Director.

further responsibilities will include:

Working with the farms team to ensure to the highest standards of bird welfare, compliance and performance. This will sometimes include practical work Overseeing and controlling the financial performance and implementing cost efficiencies Effectively communicating and coordinating the retailers' requirements Analysing, monitoring and recording performance Assisting in technical queries and problem solving Meeting all the regulatory compliance standards Support farms during audits and ensuring audit preparation is completed beforehand Driving change and implementing improvements where necessary Provide on-call support for your allocated farms Managing H&S matters and ensuring compliance with support from the H&S Manager Managing HR matters with the support of the HR Manager including employee development Manage induction training LEAN process implementation and continuous improvement
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate capability and knowledge of broiler production and will be able to show well developed people management skills in order to lead and support the team of Farm Mangers operating on the individual farms. You will be expected to work on the farms in your areas as required.

Experience and knowledge of broiler operations Excellent organisational skills Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills Full valid driving licence Responsible attitude A "can do" attitude Computer literate Attention to detail
This opportunity could suit an experienced manager or an ambitious individual who could take on these further responsibilities. The right candidate will be expected to manage their own day with regards to poultry farm visits and any support which is required to meet the needs of the business, with regular communication to line management.
