We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Poultry Veterinary Intern at Poultry Health Services -one of the largest specialist commercial poultry and game bird practices in the UK.


This is a full-time role, for an RCVS registered vet, based at our Sheriff Hutton practice 5 miles north of the beautiful city of York.

About us:




Founded in 2018 with bases in 9 locations across the UK plus 2 specialised poultry-only laboratories we offer a wide range of services and provide exceptional care across the country. Our experienced vets have a range of post-graduate qualifications and areas of expertise.


Sheriff Hutton, our busiest practice, has a team consisting of 7 vets along with 2 export vets and a small lab with a team of 4. There are 3 admin/receptionists within the practice too.

The Role:




You will undertake a Veterinary Internship in Poultry Medicine and Production. This VetPartners programme of 6 months duration, in a friendly and supportive environment, will ensure you gain valuable experience and understanding of this highly specialised field within the poultry industry.


New graduates will be fully supported by a one-to-one VetGDP supervisor.

The Rota:



Full-time role - 40 hours per week No on call during training period On call rota on completion of the training period: 1 in 4 with a day off the week following the weekend that you have been on call.

We are situated in a beautiful rural area just north of the historic city of York that provides a multitude of things to see and do. There are the many famous tourist attractions, a plethora of both modern and quaint restaurants, bars and shops, plus ample facilities for sporting enthusiasts.


The beautiful North Yorks Moors are a stone's throw away, and the East Coast is easily accessible. Travel links are good with nearby access to the A64 and A1(M). York is also well connected by train with regular services from major cities across the UK - London can be reached in under 2 hours.
