, contributing to power module development from concept through to production.

The Opportunity




We are seeking a

Power Module Design Engineer

to join our multidisciplinary R&D team. This role is primarily focused on

power module and packaging design

, supporting the development of high-performance power modules using

wide band gap (WBG) semiconductors

such as SiC and GaN.


You will play a key role in shaping innovative module architectures, with strong exposure to 3D CAD design, simulation and system-level integration. For the right candidate, there is scope to take on

technical leadership or project ownership

responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities



Design power modules and power systems incorporating WBG devices to meet performance and compliance requirements Develop 3D conceptual and detailed packaging designs, with emphasis on multilayer PCB stack-ups, high power density and low parasitics Produce 2D and 3D CAD designs using Solid Edge (or similar tools) Apply finite element modelling tools (ANSYS Mechanical, Q3D, Fluent, IcePak) to assess electrical, thermal and mechanical performance Contribute to circuit and system-level design, including commutation and gate loop inductance minimisation, current sharing and EMI reduction Support system architecture design, including capacitor integration, thermal management, coolant flow, gate drive placement and busbar design Generate schematics, engineering drawings and technical documentation Support prototype build activities and early-stage manufacturing Design in line with Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles from concept stage Lead or contribute to R&D projects from concept through to delivery

About You




You will be an engineer with experience in power electronics or power module design, ideally within an R&D or advanced engineering environment. You will be comfortable working collaboratively, taking ownership of technical decisions and communicating clearly across disciplines.

You will ideally have:



A degree (or higher) in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering,

or

equivalent industrial experience Industrial experience in power module or power inverter design and layout Strong experience using 2D and 3D CAD tools for electronics or power electronics products Experience with finite element modelling tools (ANSYS Mechanical, Fluent, IcePak and/or Q3D) Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer (advantageous) Exposure to wide band gap semiconductor technologies (SiC and/or GaN)
