We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join one of our clients manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining press machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and a commitment to safety standards. The successful applicant will contribute to the efficient production process, ensuring products meet specified standards and deadlines.
Duties
Set up and operate various types of press machinery, ensuring correct calibration and alignment for each job
Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on press equipment to prevent breakdowns
Fabricate, grind, weld, and assemble sheet metal components as required for production tasks
Utilise hand tools and tooling to modify or repair parts and equipment
Conduct basic measurements and calculations using standard mathematical skills to ensure precision in production
Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Document production data accurately, including quantities produced and machine performance logs
Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimise downtime
Qualifications
Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or similar manufacturing roles is preferred
Must hold a valid Power Press Setter's Certificate (RoSpa) Essential!!
Mechanical knowledge with familiarity of sheet metal processes and machinery operation
Proficiency in using hand tools, tooling, and basic measuring instruments
Strong understanding of assembly procedures and technical drawings
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and adjustments
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and safety standards
Previous experience working with sheet metal is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment use
