It was one of the first multi-channel, multi-market global drinks distributors and is a leader in its field. Now made up of four group companies, it is an independently managed business and a recent addition to the Pernod Ricard Group since November 2021.


The business has many moving parts; a direct-to-consumer retailer (both online and in-store), a wholesale arm working directly with the UK's top restaurants and bars and an online auction house.

The Opportunity




Are you passionate about storytelling, media, and all things whisky? We're on the lookout for a talented PR Intern to join our small but mighty team at The Whisky Exchange for a 12-month, full-time paid internship. This is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the world of PR, where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of PR and communications activities including building media lists, developing relationships with key journalists, building coverage reports and much more.

Your Unique Contribution




You'll be involved in a range of different PR & comms activities during your time with us. This will involve:

Supporting PR team on all projects and activities Monitoring and tracking media coverage and compiling reports on media outcomes for specific campaigns and timeframes Compiling weekly monthly coverage updates to share with wider stakeholders Ensuring master contact list is kept up to date with changes and updates across press and influencer landscape Assisting in organising and coordinating product samples for media and influencers, tracking all product sample requests and ensuring timely delivery Supporting growing influencer network by researching and identifying relevant influencers to partner with across drinks & lifestyle Assisting with day-to-day reactive press requests, including product samples and image requests, to eventually take over and oversee once confident Assisting in the development of press materials including exclusive and new product monthly press notes, campaign launches and event invitations Assisting with the planning and implementation of press events Staying across relevant trends in the drinks and hospitality industry to help develop proactive pitches and stories for relevant press

Your Blend of Talent




Our ideal candidate is someone who has:

University graduate in Public Relations, Marketing or Business, or equivalent experience Excellent verbal and written English skills Passionate about our industry Proactive and independent Agile with numbers/analytics skills Positive and can-do attitude/solution-oriented attitude Creative mindset Good at coordinating / managing projects Organised with a good level of attention detail Enjoy working in an international and multi-cultural environment Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint Previous experience in a similar role (advantageous)
